Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today participated in Jhalmalko Laya-Lyor Gotul Racha Utsav at village Amakra in Antagarh block of Kanker district. This festival was organized to preserve the local culture, tradition, folk songs and folk dances. Addressing the festival, the Chief Minister made several announcements for the development of the area. The local people welcomed the Chief Minister in a traditional way by garlanding Mahua flowers and tying peacock feathers and a flowerpot on his head. Member of Parliament from Bastar Lok Sabha constituency Mr. Deepak Baij, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Shishupal Sori, MLA Mr. Anoop Nag, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Tiwari and Member of State Planning Commission Mrs. Kanti Nag were also present in the celebration. Chief Minister Shri Baghel today announced the grant of full tehsil status to Koylibeda and Amabeda in Jhalmalko Laya-Lyor Gotul Racha Utsav on a stage decorated with Sal trees in Amakra. He also announced the establishment of District Co-operative Bank at Koylibeda. He also announced the construction of 10 gotuls and 10 devgudis in the Antagarh area for the preservation of the local culture. During his address, the Chief Minister talked about starting postgraduate classes in government colleges of Antagarh and Pakhanjur, Pre-Matric Boys Hostel at Kesekodi in Koylibeda Block and Balak Ashram at Kadme, Pre-Matric Hostel at Nagarbeda, Balak Ashram at Aamkara, Kaleparas High School. Along with upgradation of Higher Secondary School, construction of school building and boundary wall at a cost of Rs 35 lakh, installation of divider-cum-street light in Antagarh city, establishment of well equipped model community health center and construction of rest building were also announced. He proposed to form an organization to promote dance, art and literature in Kanker district like ‘Badal’ established in Bastar and send 14 youths of Antagarh region on a study tour to Indonesia to study the innovations happening in the field of agriculture and forest produce. also approved. The Chhattisgarh government has approved the construction of hundreds of gotulas in Bastar, Narayanpur and Kanker. This will encourage the spread of local culture and knowledge. He said that the state government has sanctioned Rs.8 crore 19 lakh for the construction of 126 gotulas and Rs.8 crore 22 lakh for the construction of 224 devgudis. The Chief Minister said that in order to increase the income of the people living in Vananchal, the government has increased the number of forest produce purchased on support price from 7 to 65. Units are also being set up for collection, value addition and processing of minor forest produce. Antagarh MLA Mr. Anoop Nag while addressing the program said that the state government is procuring paddy from farmers at good prices. Minor forest produce is also being procured at reasonable prices. This brings happiness on everyone’s face. He said that the Chief Minister understands the effect and needs of the people of the entire state. Therefore, according to the needs of every region, they keep giving new gifts. Adviser to the Chief Minister, Shri Rajesh Tiwari said in his address that many works are being done in the state to improve the interest and economic condition of the farmers and to protect the water, forest, land and culture of the tribals. The Chief Minister has done the work of preserving and giving a new identity to the culture of the entire state and Bastar. Along with organizing tribal dance festivals, the government has given a holiday in the state on World Tribal Day. Financial resources are also being provided continuously for the development of gotuls and devgudis.
