Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has paid homage to the constitution maker, independent India’s first Law and Justice Minister and social reformer Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary on April 14. Recalling the invaluable contribution of Baba Saheb, Mr. Baghel said that Dr. Ambedkar, a multi-faceted personality, was the chairman of the drafting committee of the Indian Constitution. He gave India a strong and people-friendly constitution for diversity, on the foundation of which Indian democracy is continuously flourishing. The Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb campaigned against caste discrimination in the society. He played an important role in giving respect and rights to the Dalits. He also advocated for the rights of workers and women. Following the path shown by Baba Saheb, the state government is running many schemes for the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society. Shri Baghel has said that lakhs of followers of Baba Saheb all over the country including Chhattisgarh celebrate his birthday with enthusiasm and reverence.
