On the occasion of Ram Navami, a state level competition for singing Ramayana troupes will be organized from April 8 to 10 at Shivrinarayan, a famous pilgrimage site in Janjgir-Champa district. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel will attend the closing ceremony of the competition and will inaugurate various development works under Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit. During the competition, eminent artists of the country and the state will also perform Manas singing. According to information received from the Department of Culture, in this three-day event, on April 8, the vocal nightingale of Chhattisgarh, Padmashree Mamta Chandrakar, on April 9, Mumbai’s famous playback singer Anuradha Paudwal, on April 10, Jas Geet Samrat Dilip Shadangi, alumni of Music University Khairagarh. A dance drama and hymn based on the Ram-Shabri episode will be presented by Samrat Padmashree Anup Jalota. In the state level Manas singing competition being organized in Shivrinarayan, about 350 artists from selected Manas circles of 25 districts will give their performances in the state level competition on 8-9 and 10 April. At the conclusion of the competition, on April 10, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel will give prizes to the Ramayana troupes that come first three places in the competition.
