Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel will participate in the state level Akti Tihar and Mati-Poojan Diwas program organized in Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus tomorrow, May 3. On this occasion, after worshiping with traditional rituals, they will also sow seeds by driving tractor in the field. On this occasion, the Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the establishment of Doppler Weather Radar along with inaugurating the newly constructed building of College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology and dairy for organic milk production. In the program, he will also distribute improved seeds, biofertilizers and agricultural implements to the farmers. Along with this, the poet of Akti Tihar Geet, Shri Mir Ali Mir will also be honored. The Chief Minister will reward the winning students in the literary and cultural competition organized at Akti Tihar as well as reward the farmers for innovation in agriculture and conservation of seeds. On this occasion, the Chief Minister will launch a project to study the agricultural cost of major crops of Chhattisgarh, Research Action Plan for Genome Sequencing of Millets. He will also launch Krishi Rozgar Mobile App. On this day, Akti Tihar program is also being organized at about 60 places including all the colleges, research centers and Krishi Vigyan Kendras run under Indira Gandhi Agricultural University. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey will preside over the state level function of “Akti Tihar and Mati Pujan Diwas” organized at Agriculture College, Raipur. Urban Administration and Labor Minister Shri Shiv Dahria, Parliamentary Secretary Home Shri Vikas Upadhyay, MLA Shri Dhanendra Sahu, Shri Satyanarayan Sharma, Shri Kuldeep Juneja and Smt. Anita Yogendra Sharma, District Panchayat President Smt. Domeshwari Verma, Chief Minister K. Agriculture Advisor Shri Pradeep Sharma, Chairman of Seed Corporation Shri Agni Chandrakar, Chairman of Farmers Welfare Council Shri Surendra Sharma, Chairman of Shakambhari Board Shri Ramkumar Patel will be present. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel will attend Swami Vivekananda Agricultural Engineering in Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus on this occasion. He will also inaugurate the newly constructed building of College of Technology and Research Institute at a cost of Rs.6.23 crore. Undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. level classes will be conducted. The facility of virtual classroom will also be available here where eminent scientists of the country and abroad will be able to directly connect with the students and inform them about the subject matter. Major Gauthans of that district established under the Suraji Gaon scheme of the Government of Chhattisgarh will also be connected to this program. . The participation of Gothan committees, self-help groups will also be ensured in this program. On this occasion, the seeds and plant material of various food grains – pulses, oilseeds, vegetables, fodder etc. will also be distributed to the farmers, members of Gauthan committees and self-help groups. Progressive farmers will also be honored on this occasion. Farmers training and farmer seminars will also be organized during the programme, in which efforts will be made to solve the technical problems of the farmers. Planting material of fruit, flower and vegetable crops will be distributed to the farmers, members of Gothan committees and self-help groups in Akti Tihar and Mati Pujan Day organized by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. Along with the seeds, technical information will also be made available in print form. Farmers, members of Gothan committees and self-groups will be invited to colleges, research centers and Krishi Vigyan Kendras and they will be given information and training about new seeds and agricultural techniques. Under the joint aegis of Chhattisgarh Bioincubation Promotion Society and Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, 15 thousand liters of biofertilizer will be distributed to enrich the vermicompost prepared in Gauthans.
