Collector Smt. Priyanka Rishi Mahobia inspected the site on Monday and gave necessary instructions to develop the tourism and religious places of the district. He visited Mai ki Mandwa, Jaleshwar and Rajmergarh of Gram Panchayat Thadpathra. He asked to construct parking and toilets at Thadpathra. The Collector instructed the officers to give a place in the canteen to be constructed by the district administration to the citizen who is running a canteen in a raw hut in Mai’s Mandwa and to construct a toilet with chair-sitting arrangement in the premises. Mrs. Mahobia took information from priest Mr. Kunwar Singh about the Akhand Jyoti of Mai’s cave. The collector reached Durgadhara and observed the waterfall located there and asked the officials to renovate it. Collector Mrs. Mahobia discussed with the women of Jaleshwar’s self-help group regarding their livelihood. Directed the officials to demarcate the land of Jaleshwar. In view of the health of children etc. in the cold, instructions were given to the officers to construct sheds, toilets and parking for vehicles, keeping in mind that the house of any resident family should not be damaged. The collector asked to make railings for the safety of tourists in Rajmergarh, prepare platforms for viewing panoramic views from the hill, train members of forest committees to operate canteens. He told the local residents in the training camp and program not to cut trees and to protect forests from arson etc. The Collector gave necessary instructions to the officials of the tourism department to develop Rajmergarh from the point of view of picnic spot. The collector was informed by the tourism department that at present preparations are being made to build a Baiga cottage on the lines of the Baiga cottage of Kabirdham. At the same time, local people are being given training for self-employment. Training will be given by the Health and Police Department in the coming week. Collector Smt. Mahobia asked the officers to train the youth of the district as tourist guides under RCT, so that in future the youth can get employment as guides and visit religious and tourist places of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district- Mai May Mandwa, Jaleshwar, Rajmergarh, Kabir Chabutra etc. be promoted. On this occasion, Project Director DRDA Mr. RK Khunte, Chief Executive Officer, Gaurela Mr. Sanjay Sharma along with officers and employees of the tourism department were present. It is noteworthy that the flowing water stream, pavilion and Mai’s cave are situated in Mai’s Mandwa. This is a place associated with Mata Narmada. There is a Shivling of mythological importance of Lord Bholenath in Jaleshwar Dham. Durgadhara has a flowing waterfall and Durga Mata’s temple and Rajmergarh is a hill village situated above the forest from the point of view of camp and picnic, from which the view can be seen far away.
