NITI Aayog has been continuously appreciating the various developmental programs being run by the state government for the upliftment of the people in Chhattisgarh. In this context, today NITI Aayog has praised it by tweeting the works of women of self-help groups of Narayanpur. He mentioned in his tweet that the women of Danteshwari Self-Help Group operating in the aspirational district Narayanpur have so far earned about Rs 4 lakh from the processing work. The women’s group is making monthly income of 15 to 20 thousand rupees by producing Kodo, Kutki and Ragi by taking advantage of the schemes of the government. Women of Maa Danteshwari Mahila Self-Help Group in village Palki of Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, which is included in the aspirational district of the country, is continuously increasing their income by joining the Kodo-Kutki processing work. On talking to the women of the group, he told that 10 women in his group are working actively. The women said that before joining the group, they used to work as a daily wage laborer in the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Keralapal, in which they received wages ranging from Rs 120 to Rs 150 per day, which was not enough for a living. Apart from this, Mahatma Gandhi was also working under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the village to meet the requirement of the house. It was told by the group that they got encouragement to start Kodo, Kutki Ragi Processing and Packaging Unit Center from Krishi Vigyan Kendra and National Rural Livelihood Scheme. The women of the group tell that training received through Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Kodo, Kutki, Ragi processing and packaging units were provided. At the same time, the financial support received from National Rural Livelihood Scheme, Bihan, such as bank linkage of Rs. 5 lakh, Chakra Nidhi – Rs. 15 thousand is received. With this amount, Kodo, Kutki, Ragi processing work was started. After doing this work, gradually the members of our group Maa Danteshwari Mahila Self-Help Group started getting good income. Three members of the group go from village to village and do the work of purchasing Kodo, Kutki and Ragi from farmers at the rate of Rs 35. After purchasing it, they do processing work in the processing center, then after packaging they sell wholesale and chillers in the local market, shop and outside market also.
