On the sensitive initiative of Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar, Shishal Craftsmanship will now become a means of livelihood for the women of Banjara caste of Vananchal region. It is noteworthy that the Handicrafts Development Board of the Department of Village Industries is providing direct employment to the people in rural forest areas by organizing training programs based on various crafts and providing them employment at home. In this episode, the Chairman of Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board, Mr. Chandan Kashyap, today launched the training program of craftsmanship at Munjala Sonarpal Center under Bastar development block. Vatti informed that a three-month training program has been organized under the departmental scheme of craftsmanship at Munjala Sonarpal Center under Bastar development block. In this training program, 20 women of Banjara caste associated with crafts are being identified and trained. Training allowance will be provided at the rate of Rs 1500 per month to the trainees in the three-month training program organized from December 21, 2021 to March 30, 2022. Laxmivati Nag has been appointed as the trainer for this training programme. After the training, the fine craftsmanship of the trainees will improve and they will be able to prepare their products according to the current market and the demand of the people. This will provide them employment as well as good income. The General Manager of District Bastar informed that the craft products prepared by the craftsmen during the training would also be provided market by the Handicrafts Development Board.
