Virendra Gahwai, Bilaspur. The High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the danger looming on 139 children of Turkadih Government School due to electric current. During the hearing in the case today, the School Education Department informed the court that the illegal connection wires passing through the school have been removed. In the last hearing, the court had directed the School Education Secretary to submit a personal affidavit.
139 children are studying in the government school of Turkadih in Bilaspur district. On the news of danger to children due to current and dilapidated roof, the Chief Justice has taken suo motu cognizance and started hearing. The court expressed concern over the fact that the entire school building is surrounded by wires of illegal electricity connections. Due to this, some unpleasant incident can happen at any time.
Even after complaining to the Education Department and Electricity Department, no action was taken. The building is dilapidated and there is a transformer installed adjacent to it, from where most of the villagers took illegal connections, due to which current flows into the school. The case was heard in the High Court. During this, the Education Department said that the illegal connection wires passing through the school have been removed. The dilapidated roof is also being repaired.
