Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has directed to continue the ready-to-eat distribution to eligible beneficiaries of all categories in such districts where Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi centers have been closed for the prevention of Kovid infection. Along with this, pregnant mothers and children of 3 to 6 years have been asked to go door-to-door to provide hot food through tiffin system. It is noteworthy that keeping in view the current spread of Kovid-19, the State Government has given instructions to stop the operation of Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi Centers with immediate effect in districts having more than 4 percent positivity rate to prevent infection with Corona virus. In this regard, instructions have been issued by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to all the Collectors, Divisional Commissioners, District Program Officers, District Women and Child Development Officers and Child Development Project Officers. In the issued instructions, it has been said that under the Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign, the distribution of hot food and nutritional items will remain the same as per the prescribed menu at the district level. There will be no public programs like Suposhan Choupal, group meetings, etc., but health and nutrition education through home visits and Primary Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) activities under the awareness campaign will be continued.
