Chairman of Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board Mr. Chandan Kashyap observed the exhibition-cum-sale of ten-day “Deepawali Festival” of handicrafts and handloom fabrics organized at Haat Complex, Pandri today. On this occasion, he congratulated the officers, handicraftsmen and weavers of the Board and said that all possible efforts are being made to promote handicrafts. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, such events are being organized continuously to provide better market for the products of handicraftsmen. It is noteworthy that this ten-day ‘Deepawali Festival’, which runs from October 12 to 21, is wooing the residents of the capital. In this festive season, people are coming here fiercely for shopping. Here a unique collection of Chhattisgarh’s famous craftsmanship, handloom textiles and furnishings is available for display-cum-sale. The products of handicraftsmen and weavers are getting better response in this ten day “Deepawali Festival”. People are shopping fiercely since the first day of the exhibition in Chhattisgarh Haat complex. Significantly, more than 75 stalls have been set up in this festival. It includes famous handicrafts of Chhattisgarh, Dhokra craft, Iron craft, Wood craft, Bamboo craft, Carpet craft, Shisal craft, Tattoo craft, Tuma craft, Terracotta craft and Chode bronze craft and Handloom fabrics in Kosa saris, Dupatta, Salwar suits, Dresses. Materials, bedsheets and various types of readymade garments, soil crafts, Khadi boards and Bilasa stalls are included. In the ten-day handicrafts and handloom exhibition to the people, home-use and decoration materials are available at reasonable prices to the customers as per their choice. The “Deepawali Mahotsav” will be open for general public daily from 11 am to 9 pm.
