The Saur Sujala Yojana, being run by the Chhattisgarh government in the interest of farmers, is changing the lives of people living in rural areas. Irrigation facilities are being made available in inaccessible and unelectrified areas through Saur Sujala Yojana, due to which the fields of the farmers have started flourishing and the farmers do not have to worry about irrigation. In the past, due to lack of electricity, diesel was used by many farmers. Irrigation was being done in the fields using pumps, but due to the increase in the price of diesel, it was out of reach of the small farmers, due to which farmers were relying on God to produce paddy. Now the faces of the farmers have blossomed after getting irrigation facilities from Saur Sujala Yojana, due to the installation of solar pumps, farmers are producing pulses and oilseed crops like pulses, mustard, urad in barren fields, due to which the income of the farmers has increased. Mrs. Malti Bai Mandavi, resident of Chapeli village of Charama, has also made her own identity as a progressive farmer in her village. They tell that they had to struggle a lot for irrigation, due to non-availability of sufficient water they had to bear the loss of the crop. He had to jugaad for irrigation through temporary electricity connection from about 800 meters away, only then he could arrange irrigation for his crops. But now due to installation of solar pump under Saur Sujala Yojana, irrigation problem has been solved and they are producing pulses and oilseed crops like Maize, Madia, Sarso, Urad in their fields, from which they earn about 02 to 03 lakhs annually.
