The five-day International Agriculture Madai Agri Carnival 2022 was inaugurated by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Shri Charandas Mahant and Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University today. On this occasion, Shri Mahant said that agricultural scientists from all over the country and abroad are participating in this farming. The farmers of the state will definitely get the benefit of their technical knowledge. Majority of the population of our state is of farmers. We are moving ahead on the basis of the formula of Garhvo Nava Chhattisgarh. This international level event will prove helpful in providing new technology to the farmers of Chhattisgarh. Shri Mahant said that our ancestors had a vast store of knowledge. So that they could also make accurate predictions. The scientists involved in this program are urged to research and preserve the knowledge reserves of the ancestors. Simultaneously, Shri Mahant suggested to do research on the tamarind plant found in Bastar, so that the tamarind plant would yield fruit in about five years. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, better development is taking place in the field of agriculture. The development of the state of Chhattisgarh will take place in the true sense only with the development of the farmers. Chhattisgarh is an agricultural state. Farmers and agriculture are the major contributors to the economy here. Our state has got a proud place in the field of agriculture all over the country. There are challenges as well as opportunities in the field of agriculture in Chhattisgarh. He informed that the installment of Rajiv Kisan Nyay Yojana will be released on October 17. Farmers will be happy and will be able to celebrate Deepawali well, as well as our markets will also prosper and the economy will get a boost. He appreciated the efforts made by NABARD for rural development. He also explained the need for market based production in Gauthans. It is noteworthy that the research field of Chhattisgarh farmers, giving information about new technology of agriculture by visiting the laboratory, providing information about new technology of agriculture of the whole world through agricultural exhibition, increasing agricultural productivity by organizing various workshops, seeking employment from agriculture. Krishi Madai is being organized with the aim of increasing the possibilities, solving the problems of the farmers and benefiting the farmers.
