In the tribal festival and Rajyotsava, folk artists from Orissa presented Ghudka dance. The nomadic tribes of Orissa gave an enchanting performance with instruments made of wood and leather. In the National Tribal Dance Festival at the Science College ground in the capital Raipur, artists of Western Odisha dressed up in their traditional costumes danced while singing the song Ghudka. The ghudka, a musical instrument made of wood and leather, is used in this dance. Both men and women participate in the dance. The women of the dance group dance wearing kapata (sari), bhataria and badaria in their hands, paisamali around the neck, nagmori in their arms. Similarly, men specially wear nappies (dhoti) and a cap made of palm leaves on the head. Dancers make different types of shapes on their faces with kajal. The Ghudka tribe is a nomadic species, they perform this dance in front of the common people during their excursions outside the forest.
