Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel took a review meeting of PWD officers at his residence office on Saturday. In the review meeting, the Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the poor condition of roads in the state. He said that even after sanctioning the amount, the repair and non-working of the roads shows your negligence. The Chief Minister said that work should be done on the under-construction roads expeditiously and on the roads where patchwork is required, patchwork should be done immediately. The poor condition of the roads will be reviewed again after a week. In the review meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence, the officials informed that by December 2022, 150 roads and 15 bridges, 160 roads and 20 bridges by March 2023, 74 roads and 25 bridges by June 2023 and by December 2023, Chhattisgarh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. The work of 34 roads and 5 bridges will be completed. Thus, out of 520 works, 483 works will be completed by December 2023. It was informed in the meeting that construction work is in progress on Katghora-Hardibazar-Baloda-Akaltara road under district Korba by Chhattisgarh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, renovation of Chandrapur-Dabhra-Kharsia-Dharamjaygarh-Pathalgaon road under district Raigarh is in progress. Those will be completed soon. Chandrapur road via Fargum to Dabhra under district Janjgir Champa, Durg Anda Utai Patan Abhanpur road under district Durg, ACC Chowk Jamul to Nandini Ahiwara road of Durg, Adamabad Ghotia Daundi road of district Balod, Batauli-garden-Charaidand road of district Jashpur, Upgradation and renewal work of Ambikapur-Darima-Navanagar road of district Surguja, Jagdalpur bypass road of district Bastar is in progress which is being completed soon. Similarly, the works of roads and bridges built and under construction under various schemes included in the National Highway, ADB project and budget are being completed expeditiously.
