It is said that where there is a spirit to do something, there difficulties are accepted. The women who till yesterday were living their lives by doing agriculture and daily wages. Today, the same women are entering such areas of self-employment, which no one had even thought about before and having a fixed income in their hands has increased the confidence of these women. Now their contribution in the income of the family is proving to be an important achievement. This positive change has come through the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (BIHAN). The effect of this change has also been felt on the members of ‘Jai Maa Banjari’ self-help group of Chaprid village of District Panchayat Arang. 20 per member by group members before joining livelihood. Used to save weekly and used to do farming and daily wages for daily needs, but now working at home, she is earning five to seven thousand a month. Taramati Sahu, a member of the group, says that she has to pay for her own income. There was a desire to start some work, but due to not strong economic condition, capital could not be arranged to start the work. As soon as the information about starting livelihood under the State Rural Livelihood Mission Bihan came, she took her step towards the destination by joining the women’s self-help group of the village. She told that she is associated with livelihood activity since 2015, and is able to sustain her livelihood well. She bought a sewing machine by taking a loan of Rs.5000 from her group and started her own small business which earned her good income. When he spoke in his group to further his work, all the members of the group supported him and motivated him to move forward. With the inspiration of the members, she learned parlor work and started her work by taking a loan of Rs 25,000 from the group, due to which she is earning five to seven thousand rupees every month while working at home.
