Urban Administration, Development and Labor Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria said that Chhattisgarh government is working with commitment for the welfare of farmers. He said that paddy is being purchased from farmers only in Chhattisgarh at the highest price in the country. He said that farmers’ loans have been waived in Chhattisgarh and irrigation tax has also been waived off. Dr. Dahria was addressing the farmers at the inauguration of the Paddy Purchase Festival at Mandirhasaud in Raipur district here today. Food Minister Shri Amarjit Singh Bhagat also participated in the Paddy Purchase Festival. The Food Minister, while addressing the farmers, said that the Chhattisgarh government would buy paddy from the farmers under any circumstances. In the Paddy Procurement Festival, Dr. Dahria said that no disturbance would be allowed in the procurement of paddy from the farmers. He told that the government has formed monitoring committees at the paddy procurement centers, which will look after the proper arrangements for procurement of paddy. Dr. Dahria said that the farmers are being benefitted under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. The amount of three installments of the scheme has been credited to the farmers in their accounts. The amount of the fourth installment will also be deposited in the account of the farmers soon. On this occasion, Chairman, District Co-operative Bank Maryadit Raipur, Mr. Pankaj Sharma also addressed. On the occasion of Paddy Purchase Festival, huge enthusiasm was seen among the farmers.
