Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey today inaugurated the Sant Samagam ceremony of the famous Maghi-Punni Mela to be held on the banks of Triveni Sangam at Rajim in Gariaband district in the presence of saints. Governor Ms. Uikey offered prayers to Lord Rajivlochan and prayed for happiness, prosperity and happiness of the people of the state. Addressing the function, the Governor said that it is a great pleasure to be in the holy city of Rajim. I heartily congratulate the saints and devotees who have come to the Rajim Punni fair. It is not only the confluence of Sondhur, Parri and Mahanadi, but also the confluence of religion, spirituality and faith. The gathering of sadhus has become a nationwide event along with Chhattisgarh. Any fair has community and social significance. He further said that India has always been the land of saints and saints. The life of saints is always devoted to charity. By following the path shown by the saints, along with attainment of knowledge, positive changes also come in life. Underlining the religious and cultural importance of Rajim, he said that the temples here reflect the glorious history of Indian architecture and sculpture. Governor Ms. Uike said that the Rajim Maghi Punni fair has a special cultural significance, where folk culture and sculptures are celebrated. There is a unique confluence of faith to be seen. Such events certainly give information to the public about their ancient religious-cultural traditions. We need to increase our efforts for local art, culture and religious events, so that Chhattisgarh can emerge on the tourism map. The Governor appealed to the people to still take precautions and use masks to avoid corona virus. Those who have not vaccinated, they must vaccinate. At the end of the address, Governor Ms. Uike said that we have to play our part in keeping such holy rivers clean and environment free from pollution. On this occasion, Governor Ms. Uike presented mementos to the saints. Religion and Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu said that we are constantly striving to make the fair better. He said that we have taken full care of the convenience of the devotees. The minister gave detailed information about the Rajim Mela. Governor Ms. Uike attended the Mahanadi Aarti organized on the banks of the holy Triveni Sangam. It is worth mentioning that every year Mahanadi Aarti is organized in Rajim Maghi-Punni fair held from Maghi Purnima to Mahashivratri. Governor inspected departmental stall and Saras Mela Visited the stalls and the material produced by the women’s group. Governor Ms. Uike reached the stalls and interacted with the women of the group very intimately and appreciated their hard work. Taking information from the women about the materials prepared by them, he said that their contribution in preserving and promoting the local products and artefacts of Chhattisgarh is incomparable.
