Due to Saur Sujala Yojana, crops are flourishing in the fields of the farmers even in the remote areas of the district. Irrigation has become easier in the district with the help of solar pumps obtained by Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) department. According to the information received by the department, a total of 2,432 solar irrigation pumps have been installed in 6 phases in the district so far. Sukhraj, a farmer of Salgawan village of block Sonhat, says that he has 1.5 acres of cultivable land, earlier he used to grow maize, mustard in the season itself. As they used to be able to plant crops, because there was not enough irrigation through tap and rain water, but due to the installation of 3 HP solar pump in the year 2020, now the fields remain green throughout the year, due to which they are very happy. Similarly, Ramkumar of Kailashpur village, who is cultivating paddy, wheat, gram and vegetables in 1.97 acres, says that before the installation of solar pumps, only paddy could be planted in the fields, now the profit is also getting good from good farming. Similarly, the farmer of the village Indrapal explains the benefits of solar pump irrigation and says that earlier it was difficult to plant vegetables in the entire field due to lack of water, but now vegetables are growing in the entire 1.5 acres, due to which the whole family is very happy.
