In Chhattisgarh, an IED blast, allegedly carried out by Naxalites, has resulted in the death of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje and injuries to several other police personnel. The incident occurred in the Sukma district while security forces were on patrol near the Dondra village. The attack took place amidst an ongoing anti-Naxal operation and a bandh called by CPI(M) on June 10th. The injured have been taken to the hospital in Konta. Deputy CM Vijay Shamra expressed grief over the loss, highlighting ASP Giripunje’s bravery and service. The incident underscores the challenges faced by security forces in the region, with search operations intensified following the blast.
