State Forest, Transport, Housing and Environment, Climate Change Minister and Kawardha MLA Mr. Mohammad Akbar today participated in the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Martyrdom Day program organized at Government Post Matric Tribal Boys Hostel, Bhoramdev Road. Minister Mr. Akbar first offered flowers on the photograph of martyr Veer Narayan Singh and bowed down to him. Minister Mr. Akbar said that Veer Narayan Singh is known as the first freedom fighter in Chhattisgarh. Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh had blown the bugle of rebellion against the British in Chhattisgarh. He kept working for the upliftment of the poor and the development of tribal society. Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh has been instrumental in liberating the country. He got martyrdom on 10 December 1857 while fighting the British. We feel proud to remember them on their Martyrdom Day. He said that the Chhattisgarh government, following the ideals of Martyr Veer Narayan Singh, is engaged in the welfare of villages, poor and farmers. All-round development of farmers is the top priority of the state government. Minister Shri Akbar informed that Chhattisgarh’s first international stadium has been named after Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh. The country remembers the player coming from abroad, Veer Narayan Singh. The award is also given in the Rajyotsav in the name of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh. Municipality President Mr. Rishi Sharma said that the special backward Baiga tribes living in the remote and inaccessible hills of the district have started connecting with the mainstream through the schemes of the government. New avenues have been opened for the economic upliftment and employment of the particularly backward Baiga tribe. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Cabinet Minister and MLA from Kawardha Mr. Mohammad Akbar, the state government has given 80 educated Baiga youths third place in government service in the direction of social upliftment of the socially, economically and educationally backward special backward tribes. And has been appointed to the post of class IV employee. Along with this, 110 educated unemployed belonging to the specially backward Baiga tribe are being given employment by posting them as school attendants in government schools. Councilor Mr. Mohit Maheshwari also addressed on this occasion. District Panchayat Vice President representative Mr. Hori Sahu, MNREGA member Mr. Kalim Khan, Krishi Upaj Mandi President Mr. Neelkanth Sahu, Vice President Mr. Chowaram Sahu, Mrs. Gangotri Yogi, Mr. Ganesh Yogi, Councilor Mr. Ashok Singh, Mrs. Sushila Dhurve, Mr. Vijay Pandey, Mr. Rajkumar Tiwari, Mr. Sanat Jaiswal, Mr. Lekha Rajput, along with public representatives, students of Government Post Matric Tribal Boys Hostel, alumni were present. It is noteworthy that the true son of Chhattisgarh Mahatari, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, had attained Veergati on December 10, 1857 while fighting the British. He has the distinction of being the first freedom fighter of Chhattisgarh in the revolution of 1857. Sonakhan is the birthplace and workplace of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh.
