Under the inclusive education program, study material will now be made available to visually impaired children studying in Chhattisgarh schools through smartphones. To conduct this program, teachers’ workshop is being organized from 14 to 23 September at Thakur Pyarelal Panchayat and Rural Development Training Institute, Nimora, Raipur. The workshop was inaugurated by the Director of Training Institute Nimora, Shri P.C. Mishra and Managing Director of Samagra Shiksha Shri Narendra Kumar Dugga took place in the chief hospitality of Raipur. In this workshop, selected BRP (Inclusive Education) along with visually impaired children studying in class IX in schools are being trained in the use of textbooks in smartphones in the first and second phase. In the third phase, refresher programs are being organized for the children who were provided smartphones by Samagra Shiksha in the session 2019-20. Addressing the workshop, Director of Thakur Pyarelal Panchayat and Rural Development Training Institute, Nimora, Shri P.C. While wishing all the visually impaired children good luck, Mishra was motivated to become competent and get full benefit of training from experts. Emphasizing on the identification of disabled children in the state, Mr. Dugga, Managing Director of Samagra Shiksha said that proper efforts should be made by Samagra Shiksha for their academic achievement. He said that visually impaired children would be able to become self-reliant using digital platform and in future such training programs would be organized continuously through Samagra Shiksha. The main objective of this program is to remove the problems faced by the visually impaired children studying in the schools of the state and connect them with the main stream of education. The program aims to make available textbooks accessible through smartphones to visually impaired children. Cooperation of Kolkata-based organization M Junction is being taken in providing study material to visually impaired children. In this scheme being operated under Samagra Shiksha, study material will be made available to visually impaired children studying in class 9th through smartphone.
