Significantly, the university has been constantly engulfed in controversies for the last few years. Since the tenure of former Vice Chancellor Dr. Mamta Chandrakar, questions were raised on the working style of the university. Mamta Chandrakar had the required qualifications for the post of Vice Chancellor – that is, at least ten years of teaching experience – despite this she was appointed to the post. This decision was widely criticized and this also affected the credibility of the university.
After the tenure of the former Vice Chancellor, the permanent Vice Chancellor could not be appointed in the university. For the past several months, the charge of Vice Chancellor was entrusted to the Divisional Commissioner, due to which there was a lack of stability in the university administration.
In such a situation, Prof. Lovely Sharma’s appointment is considered a positive turn for the university. Currently, Prof. working as Professor at Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra. Sharma has a long experience in music education and his academic credibility is also strong.
Pro. Lovely Sharma teaches Indian classical music (sitar). She teaches the practical class of the sitar at the undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as ‘Analysis of Shruti, Vowel division and ragas’.
