In view of the Diwali festival, as per the instructions of Collector P.S.Elma, the staff of Food and Drug Administration Department is inspecting the establishments of Dhamtari city and rural areas in the district. Along with this, the food traders were informed about the rules of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 by collecting samples for testing. An appeal was made by the Food Safety Officer under the guidance of the Collector that the cleanliness of the firm, use of food colors licensed by FSSAI in sweets, not using newsprint, food items should be kept covered. Along with this, the grocery shops were advised not to sell packaged food items without batch number, without license holder/registered, such food items in which date of manufacture and expiry date are not mentioned. Food Safety Officer said that Ghanshyamdas Tirathdas of Dhamtari, Sunil Kumar Mansaram Kirana, Pooja Namkeen Industries, Hinduja Retorant, Janardan 2 Hotel were inspected. Similarly, Udit Grocery Stores Farsian, Charan Hotel Nagri, Kurud’s Raj Sweets Store and Jitendra Kirana Stores open from Gadadih Peda, Besan Laddu, Cashew Katli, Kunda, Country Ghee, Vegetable Ghee, Namkeen Sev, Suji, Nandni Toned Milk, The samples of turmeric powder and coriander powder were collected and sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory, Raipur for testing. Along with this, food samples were taken by inspecting Suraj Sweets Bhandar, Aradhana Jalebi Bhandar, Saurashtra Sweets Bhandar, Shree Bhagwati Hindu Hotel, Vicky Trading Amapara, Raja Trading, Vidhamal Kirana Stores and CG 05 Restaurant etc. in Dhamtari city.
