In view of the response from the people to the “Jagar-2022” fair organized in the Chhattisgarh’s Pandri Haat market complex of Raipur, this fair has been extended for 5 days, now this fair will run till June 24. The Jagar Mela has remained the center of attraction for the people, for the people of the capital, this Sunday evening became a gift for the people. People who came here did a lot of shopping. In this fair, 140 stalls have been set up for display cum sale of various products of artisans and weavers of 12 states including Chhattisgarh. The products of craftsmen and weavers are getting better response. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had encouraged the craftsmen and artists during the visit of the fair on 16th June. Congratulating and congratulating the Chairman of Handicrafts Development Board, Mr. Chandan Kashyap and departmental officers for this event, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel had said that every effort would be made to bring forward the arts of craftsmen and weavers. During this, Chief Minister Shri Baghel was requested by the craftsmen to increase the organization of the 10-day fair. Taking a sensitive initiative on the demand of craftsmen, the Chief Minister has extended this 10-day fair for 5 days. Significantly, the Jagar Mela has started from 10th June and will continue till 24th June. In this exhibition, handicraftsmen from 12 states other than Chhattisgarh have come for display-cum-sale of their products. On this occasion, cultural programs are also being organized by the Department of Culture every day for the people visiting the fair premises. In today’s cultural evening, 12 members of Bliss Dance Group Kolkata and folk artistes from Gariaband made the people shudder. A large number of people come here and enjoy the cultural evening by buying their favorite home decor and decorative items as well as traditional clothes. So far more than 65 lakh rupees have been sold in the Jagar Mela. This fair is open to the general public from 11 am to 10 pm. It is noteworthy that in the Jagar fair, along with various products of handicrafts, many attractive products of handloom, Khadi, Village Industries, Matikala have been put up for sale. Out of these stalls, a total of 80 stalls have been allotted for Chhattisgarh. Craftsmen from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir are showcasing their products in 60 stalls. The famous handicrafts of Chhattisgarh state in the Jagar Mela-cum-exhibition, Belmetal Craft, Iron Craft, Wood Craft, Bamboo Craft, Carpet Craft, Shisal Craft, Tattoo Craft, Tuma Craft, Terracotta Craft, Chhind Bronze, Kosa Sarees in Handloom Fabrics, Dupatta, Salwar Suits, dress materials, bedsheets, bed sheets and various types of ready-made garments will be exhibited and co-selled.
