Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today visited the ten-day “Jagar-2022” fair organized at the Pandri Haat market complex of Chhattisgarh and inspected the various stalls set up there. On this occasion, Shri Baghel also encouraged the craftsmen and weavers by appreciating their artworks. It is worth noting that 140 stalls have been set up in the fair for display cum sale of various products of artisans and weavers of 12 states including Chhattisgarh. Congratulating and congratulating the Chairman of Handicrafts Development Board Mr. Chandan Kashyap and departmental officers for this event, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that the products of craftsmen and weavers are getting good response in the Jagar Mela. The Chief Minister also visited the Naveen Shabri Emporium on the occasion. On this occasion, Raipur’s artist Mr. Rahul Dutta presented Chief Minister’s portrait and a picture of Banaras Ghat to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel. It is noteworthy that Jagar Mela has started from 10th June and will continue till 19th June. The exhibition held in the ten-day Jagar Mela has become the center of attraction for the people. In this exhibition, handicraftsmen from 12 states other than Chhattisgarh have come for display cum sale of their products. Among the craftsmen selected for the state level award are Mr. Ambalal Jhara, Dhokra craftsman, District-Raigarh, Smt. Tilochani Devangan, Tuma Shilpi, District-Bastar, Smt. Renu Vishwakarma, Paper Meshi Art Shilpi, District-Raipur, Smt. Farharo Prajapati, Tattoo Shilpi, District Sarguja and State Level Handicraft Award for the year 2019-20 was presented to Smt. Pratima Daharwal, Mitch Chitra Shilpi, District-Raipur. Similarly Mr. Jitendra Kumar Baidya, Dhokra craftsman district-Kondagaon and Mrs. Chaibai Jhara, Dhokra craftsman district- Raigarh, Mr. Bhagelal Sodi, iron craftsman district-Kondagaon, Mr. Dashrath Kashyap, wood craftsman, district-Bastar and Mrs. Champa Pavle, tattoo crafts district -Sarguja was awarded the State Level Handicraft Award for the year 2020-21. IICD in the program Among the students who passed out from Jaipur, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Deepak Jhorka, Mr. Manoj Kumar and Mr. Rajendra were awarded certificates for the year 2020 (Craft Design) for 04 years Diploma in Hard Material Application. During this, a souvenir of the Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board was also released. It is noteworthy that this Jagar-2022 fair has been held after two years due to the Corona transition period, which has given an opportunity to the craftsmen, weavers and artists to better display their art. In the Jagar fair, along with various handicraft products, many attractive products of handloom, Khadi, Village Industries, Matikala have been put up for sale. Out of these stalls, a total of 80 stalls have been allotted for Chhattisgarh. Craftsmen from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir are showcasing their products in 60 stalls. The famous handicrafts of Chhattisgarh state in the Jagar Mela-cum-exhibition, Belmetal Craft, Iron Craft, Wood Craft, Bamboo Craft, Carpet Craft, Shisal Craft, Tattoo Craft, Tuma Craft, Terracotta Craft, Chhind Bronze, Kosa Sarees in Handloom Fabrics, Dupatta, Salwar Suits, dress materials, bedsheets, bed sheets and various types of ready-made garments will be exhibited and co-selled. Chikankari of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Banarasi sarees of Banaras, Bronze of Chanderi, Maheshwari and Tikamgarh of Madhya Pradesh, Jutework, Kanthawork and Bengali sarees of West Bengal, Phulkari of Punjab, Mojari of Rajasthan and Gujarat, Delhi, Jagar Mela-2022.
