Like every year in the state, this year also ‘Jhiram Tribute Day’ will be celebrated on 25th May. On this day, two minutes silence will be observed in all government and semi-government offices in memory of the martyrs of Jhiram Valley and Naxal violence and a pledge will be taken to make the state an island of peace again. On this day, the people of Chhattisgarh will take an oath to firmly oppose all forms of Naxalism and violence while maintaining the tradition of non-violence and tolerance in their state. The General Administration Department has issued a circular in this regard to all the departments of the State Government, Chairman Revenue Board, all Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, Collectors. It is worth mentioning that on 25 May 2013, the victims of Naxal violence in Jhiram Valley, public representatives, senior officials. The state government has decided to celebrate May 25 every year as ‘Jhiram Shraddhanjali Diwas’, in the memory of the soldiers of the security forces and all the other brothers and sisters who were martyred in the Naxal violence in the past years and presently.
