Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has said that Khadi is not a cloth but an idea. The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi used Khadi as a weapon of freedom struggle. Mahatma Gandhi envisioning Gram Swaraj, he wanted our villages to be strong in every way. We are also improving the skills of artisans, weavers, craftsmen following the path of Mahatma Gandhi. Let every village become a producer and city a selling point. He said that it is our endeavor that the village becomes self-supporting and the people of the state become self-reliant. The Chief Minister expressed his views to this effect in the 10-day state level Khadi and Village Industries Exhibition organized at Pandri Chhattisgarh Haat Bazar late in the evening. The Chief Minister honored weavers and craftsmen who have done excellent work in various fields on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that as per the vision of Mahatma Gandhi, the Suraji Gaon Yojana was implemented in Chhattisgarh to realize the dream of ‘Gram Swaraj’. Under this scheme, village-village Gauthans are being constructed and developed as Rural Industrial Parks. He said that weavers, craftsmen and artisans are being given better employment opportunities by setting up small enterprises in rural industrial parks. Their work is being refined and they are being trained to produce as per market demand. For this, a provision of Rs 600 crore has been made in the budget. Due to which water and electricity will be arranged here first. He said that traders should provide raw material to the artisans here. Those working here will be given training by the government. The artisans will prepare and make available the material according to the design of the trader. This will provide employment to the people of the state and they will be financially prosperous. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that Sewa Gram is being established in Nava Raipur on the lines of Sevagram of Wardha. Here weavers, craftsmen and artisans will be given training to increase their trade. This center will emerge as a developed form of Khadi and will lead the person working in this field towards prosperity. The Chief Minister said that Mukhyamantri Resham Project has been started in the state this year. Under this scheme, one thousand women will be identified and trained in cocoon threading. Women working here will earn 6 to 7 thousand rupees per month from this work. He said that Rally Cocoon Bank would be set up to take forward the silk project in the coming financial year. Initially, 200 self-help groups will be entrusted with the task of threading training. The Chief Minister said that approval has been given for construction of more than 10 thousand 500 Gauthans in the state, out of which construction of more than 8 thousand 500 has been completed. . This will be developed as Gauthan Rural Industrial Park. Village Industries Minister Guru Rudra Kumar, Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Board Mr. Rajendra Tiwari, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma also addressed the program.
