Lightning wreaked havoc, a patrolling soldier died, a sarpanch grazing cattle also lost his life…

Bijapur/Jashpur. Incidents of lightning strike have been reported in two different parts of the state. In Bijapur, a soldier of the Bastar battalion died due to lightning strike, while in Jashpur, a sarpanch died due to lightning strike. The sarpanch’s wife was also seriously injured in the incident. Santoshpur resident Kamlesh Hemla, a soldier of Bastar battalion posted in CRPF Mudvendi camp, died while on patrol due to lightning strike in Bijapur. The body of the soldier has been brought to Bijapur district hospital, where after post-mortem, the soldiers will give the last salute.

In Jashpur, while grazing cattle, Sarpanch Ramvriksh Ram of Rauni Gram Panchayat of Bagicha development block died after being struck by lightning. His wife who was present with him suffered severe burns and has been admitted to Bagicha hospital for treatment.
