Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today inspected Balachhapar Gauthan of Jashpur assembly constituency and inspected the self-help group shed, oil, flour mill and paddy pulverization machine installed in Gothan. He also visited the self-help group’s garden constructed in 800 hectares of Gauthan campus. On reaching Gothan, the women welcomed the Chief Minister in a traditional way by applying tilak, performing aarti and wearing cotton garlands. During the inspection, the Chief Minister planted a plant of Kadamba in the Gauthan campus and gave a message of environmental protection to the people. The Chief Minister visited the Biofertilizer Unit run by Radha Rani Self-Help Group in the Gauthan campus and to promote organic farming by making liquid manure. Group work appreciated. The officials apprised that bio-composting liquid organic manure is made by using cow dung and urine, this liquid organic manure not only increases the fertility of the land. Increases the carbon content in the soil and does not allow weeds to occur in the fields. This liquid organic fertilizer also destroys the germs that damage crops. The soil gets 50-88 types of micro elements from this liquid organic manure. With the use of this manure, the amount of carbon content in the soil can increase by 0.25 to 0.5 percent every year. The unit can make up to 200 liters of liquid manure daily from cow dung and cow urine. With this farmers can earn Rs 200 per day. The Chief Minister took stock of goat rearing and poultry farming activities in Gauthan. The women of the self-help group told that they are doing the work of rearing the Kadaknath breed and the indigenous breed of rooster. So far, he has earned more than 30 thousand from poultry farming. The Chief Minister also inspected the bari run by the women of self-help groups. He also gave tips to the women for production of good quality gourd, its better color and growth during this period. The women told that under the guidance of the officers of the Horticulture Department, planting of bitter gourd, barbatti, bottle gourd, luffa, ladyfinger, papaya etc. has been done. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inspected the oil crushing unit run by the women of self-help group at Gauthan. and encouraged to expand the business.
