Finally, a decision has been taken to free the state bird of Chhattisgarh, the hill myna, from the breeding center of the forest school located at Bastar district headquarters. Kangerghati National Park Office has got permission for this from the headquarters. It may be noted that the efforts for the breeding of the state bird Pahadi Myna started from 1992 and till now, despite spending several crores of rupees, the male and female of the Pahadi Myna could not be identified, due to which the Forest Department is still in the breeding center. Could not get any success. After which question marks were raised on it. It is worth mentioning that after the formation of the state of Chhattisgarh, the mountain myna, which specializes in sounding like a human, got the status of a state bird, even before this, the conservation and promotion of this rare mountain myna By creating a huge cage in the forest school, creating a natural environment and creating a breeding center, 06 hill mynas were kept in it three decades ago, in which all of them died one by one. At present, there are three mynas Sonu, Monu and Ritu left in the cage brought from Koleng area, which will be released in the wild. According to experts, hill myna does not like noise. Due to the urban area around the forest school, there is noise, so the forest department has not been able to get any success regarding the breeding of myna. A plan was made to shift the Pahari Myna breeding center located at Van Vidyalaya to Kanger Ghati area, but the plan got stuck in limbo after the transfer of the officer. After this, a plan was also made to release a special type of chip in the hill myna, but due to high expenditure, this plan also went on hold. The failure to conserve and promote the rare state bird hill myna can be a matter of concern, the need for effective planning with ornithologists cannot be ignored in this direction.
