A large number of 4 thousand 855 small and big drains of different forest divisions in the annual action plan of CAMPA 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 under the important “Narva Development Program” being run by the state government under Suraji Gaon Yojana Ground water harvesting structures are being constructed in Under this, construction work of 265 nos. stop dam, 61 no. anicut, 349 no. check dam, 864 no. pond and dubri, 1, 488 no. percolation tank, 403 no. dyke and 652 no. of Ardan Dam has been approved in last three years. The construction of these ground water harvesting structures approved from CAMPA item is going on at a fast pace. Out of these, 135 nos. stop dam, 24 no. anicut, 129 no. check dam, 292 no. pond and 517 no. percolation tank, 177 no. dyke and 324 no. of Ardan Dam have been completed. With their construction, more than 20 lakh hectares of forest land will be treated. It is worth mentioning that under the special initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and under the guidance of Minister of Forest and Climate Change, Shri Mohammad Akbar, a large number of water bodies, rivers and ponds have been revived for conservation and promotion of ground water in the forest areas of the state. The task has been taken. For this, Forest Minister Shri Akbar informed that these water storage structures to be built under the head of Chhattisgarh State Compensatory Afforestation, Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) will ensure the availability of drinking water for the people living in the forest and wild animals. Also, due to water logging in the drain, moisture will remain in the surrounding land. With this, along with the convenience of farming, the source of income and greenery will also increase. In this regard, Chief Executive Officer of CAMPA (Chhattisgarh Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority) Shri V. Srinivasa Rao informed that in these, an amount of more than Rs 160 crore has been approved in the annual action plan of CAMPA 2019-20 under Narva Development Program. In this, 12 lakh 24 thousand ground water harvesting structures are being constructed in 4.84 lakh hectare watershed area of 863 small and big drains with a length of 01 thousand 829 km. Similarly, an amount of more than Rs 388 crore has been approved in Part-1 and Part-2 of CAMPA’s Annual Action Plan 2020-21 under Narva Vikas Yojana. In this, 44 lakh 34 thousand ground water conservation structures are being constructed in 5.86 lakh hectare watershed area of 2030 small and big drains with a length of 03 thousand 263 km. Due to their construction, about 05 lakh 86 thousand hectare land of Vananchal will be treated. An amount of about Rs 210 crore has been approved for the construction of 20 lakh 76 thousand 484 ground water conservation related structures in 1 thousand 92 small and big drains under CAMPA in the year 2020-21. Out of these, construction of 18 lakh 60 thousand structures has been completed by spending an amount of Rs 139 crore so far. With their construction, 03 lakh 60 thousand 777 hectares of Vananchal land will be treated. Similarly, under the year 2020-21 Part-2, an amount of about Rs 178 crore has been approved for the construction of 23 lakh 58 thousand 273 ground water conservation related structures in 938 small and big drains. Of these, construction of 10 lakh 41 thousand structures has been completed by spending an amount of Rs 45 crore so far. By their construction, 02 lakh 24 thousand 838 hectare land of Vananchal will be treated. Similarly, an amount of more than Rs 392 crore has been approved in the annual action plan of CAMPA 2021-22 under Narva Development Program. In this, construction of about 38 lakh ground water conservation related structures is in progress in 8.17 lakh hectare catchment area of 01 thousand 962 drains. Under CAMPA’s Annual Action Plan 2021-22, 96 thousand 850 structures are being constructed in 50 drains of Guru Ghasidas National Park, Surguja and 13 thousand 559 structures in 7 drains of Kanger Ghati National Park, Jagdalpur. Similarly, in 93 drains of Indravati Tiger Reserve Bijapur, one lakh 80 thousand 847 and more than one lakh structures are being constructed in 52 drains of Achanak Marg Tiger Reserve Lormi. Apart from this, one lakh 23 thousand 580 in 64 drains of Elephant Reserve Surguja and 63 thousand structures are being constructed in 33 drains under Research and Extension Jagdalpur.
