Under the State Government-run Suraji Gaon Yojana, under the Narva Development Program, 87 different ground water harvesting structures have been constructed in Cheorbahar Nala located in Vananchal under CAMPA head. Under this, the Ardan Dam (earthen dam) constructed at a cost of about Rs.16 lakh has started benefiting the Forest Management Committee, Kakargaon, under the forest division Kondagaon, along with irrigation and irrigation facilities, as well as fisheries. With this, additional irrigation facilities have been made available to the people of Vananchal in 20 acres of land along with nistari. The water storage area of Ardan Dam is 25 hectares. After its construction, the beneficiaries of Forest Management Committee Kakargaon have started doing fisheries in Ardan Dam, due to which 30 beneficiaries of Kakargaon Committee have started getting direct benefit. It is worth mentioning that Kempa (Chhattisgarh Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority) Under the Annual Action Plan of 2020-21, 87 different structures related to ground water harvesting have been constructed at a cost of Rs. These include 47 nos loose boulder check dam, 24 nos brush wood check dam, 03 nos 30-40 model, 02 nos water soaka khanti, 04 nos contour khanti, 02 nos percolation tank, 02 nos ardan dam, 01 nos pond deepening and 02 nos.
