Like every year, the month of September is being celebrated as National Nutrition Month. In this campaign, which will run from September 1 to September 30 in the state, several activities mainly focused on traditional diet for women and children of tribal areas including women and health, children and their education, gender sensitive water conservation and management will be organized. . The purpose of Poshan Maah is to acquaint the general public with the importance of nutrition and to develop healthy behavior through a well-nourished diet. The main objective of Poshan Maah this year is to activate the Poshan Panchayats. For this, efforts will be made to increase the participation of general public in the movement by making Sarpanch and Gram Panchayats the basis of activities at the village level. Public and private including public representatives, various departments, voluntary organizations, women self-help groups for effective implementation of the event. Active participation of sectors will be taken. Weight and height measurement of children left out in the weight festival will be done during the nutrition month. Along with home visits by Anganwadi workers and Mitanin at the village level, slogan writing based on nutrition messages, identification of severely and moderately malnourished children, and discussion related to their nutritional care will be organized. Workshop on women’s health and sports at Anganwadi and school level. Nutrition knowledge and cleanliness programs will also be organized in the game. Awareness programs and rallies will be organized on the topic of water conservation in gram panchayats. Local nutritious dishes will be displayed through self-help groups. Child reference camps will be organized by identifying malnourished children. During this, prevention of anemia and sensitization on pre-natal, post-natal check-up will be done at Panchayat level. Poshan Vatika will be constructed and developed in Anganwadi centers and schools. Anemia check-up camp will be organized in health centers and iron folic acid tablets will be distributed to prevent anemia. Along with this, there will be programs for awareness on menstrual hygiene and management.
