Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam has said that the holders of Forest Rights Recognition should be given the benefits of government schemes on their land. Employment oriented work should be done by connecting them with MNREGA scheme. Instructions were also given to the district officers to prepare an action plan to get the benefits of forest rights recognition card holders under MNREGA. Along with this, every forest committee should be given a target to approve at least one Community Forest Right and Community Forest Resource Right letter. Review individual forest rights and provide them the benefits of schemes. He said that 62 Adarsh hostel-ashrams are to be upgraded in Raipur and Durg divisions in the year 2022-23. An amount of Rs 19 crore 68 lakh 54 thousand has been allocated for this. Dr. Tekam was reviewing the functioning of the department by taking a meeting of the Assistant Commissioners of Raipur and Durg divisions in Mantralaya today. In the meeting, Secretary Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Shri D.D. Singh, Commissioner Smt. Shammi Abidi and senior officers of the department were present. Minister Dr. Tekam directed the officers to expedite the construction works. He said that the approved works should be inspected from time to time. Ensure that the construction works are completed in a timely manner with quality. Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Commissioner Mrs. Shammi Abidi directed the officers to organize state level traditional sports competitions especially for the weaker sections. He directed the officers to identify the people suffering from more serious diseases in Kamar settlements and go to the spot to help as much as possible. Smt. Abidi said that special health camps should be organized in the habitations of especially vulnerable tribes and their health check-up should be done. Other related medicines and spectacles should be made available by organizing eye camps in weekly haat-bazaar. Particularly from the weaker tribes, cent percent forest accreditation holders should be linked with the MNREGA scheme. Minister Dr. Tekam said that for individual forest rights, family-wise, development-block-wise information should be collected in the villages where there are forest areas. . On the basis of that, individual forest rights should be given to the remaining families. The area of forest land recognized as individual forest rights is less than the claimed land, the officials should note. Especially while accepting the claim by the District Level Committee, it should be scrutinized. Those who have received forest rights letters, development work should be done through government schemes on the lands of those holders of forest rights. The forest rights book should be compulsorily supplied in the form of a record to the individual forest rights holders. He said that the names of the next of kin of the forest rights holders who have died can be mentioned in the loan book. Speed up the work in Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, Balodabazar, Kabirdham districts. Assistance should be sanctioned for land leveling and bunding, fertilizer-seeds and agricultural equipment on the land of forest rights holders. Tube wells, wells, stop dams should be constructed for irrigation and benefited from Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana. It was told in the meeting that community forest resource rights and community forest rights are in the priority of the state government. Under Raipur division, 3 thousand 152 community forest rights have been distributed in Mahasamund, Dhamtari, Gariaband, Balodabazar district and 3 thousand 668 community forest rights have been distributed in Kabirdham, Rajnandgaon, Balod districts under Durg division. Similarly, 331 community forest resource rights have been given under Raipur division and 110 under Durg division. Minister Dr. Tekam instructed the officers to ensure that action is taken in a time bound manner. It was informed in the meeting that individual forest rights have been given in 9 urban areas in Dhamtari district of Raipur division. Minister Dr. Tekam said that it should be ensured to give individual forest rights and community forest rights on forest land in all the districts and urban areas. In the meeting, it has been told in the review of Eklavya Model Residential School that children have been admitted in class 6th. The process of recruitment of guest teachers is going on. Work is being done to provide fully equipped laboratory, library, computer room, internet and TV facility in these schools.
