On the occasion of National Unity Day on 31st October, the birthday of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Raipur also ran for the unity and integrity of the country. Today, District Administration and Sports and Youth Welfare Department organized unity run from Collectorate Chowk to Marine Drive Telibandha at 7 am. In this race, Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vikas Upadhyay, Chhattisgarh Home Construction Board President Shri Kuldeep Juneja, Senior MLA Shri Satyanarayan Sharma along with Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Mayank Chaturvedi, District Panchayat CEO Shri Akash Chhikara and CRPF Commandant Shri. Singh and district administration officials and employees, a large number of local citizens, public representatives, sportsmen, school and college students, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, members of Rajiv Mitan Club, police personnel participated. There was a lot of enthusiasm since morning among the children who came to participate in the unity race. At 7 o’clock in the morning, Collector Dr Bhure started the unity race by flagging off from Collectorate Chowk. Via DFO Office, Shankar Nagar Chowk, G.E. This unity run on the road culminated at Marine Drive Telibandha. At the closing ceremony, MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma administered the oath to the participants of the race to maintain the national unity and integrity and security and to contribute towards ensuring the internal security of the country. National level players of rope jumping game Shri Vasudev Patel, Shri Devashish Patel, Shri Jai Patel displayed their sports skills by jumping rope in different ways at Telibandha Chowk.
