Gariaband. Security forces have achieved great success in Gariaband district under the Naxal Abolition Campaign. During the search in the forest of village Gaurmund under police station Mainpur area, security forces recovered a large amount of dump goods and two powerful IED bombs, after which the security forces deferred a major accident by neutralizing both IED bombs in time in view of security. According to the information, on 18 May 2025, the F Company of District Bal Gariaband and 65th Battalion CRPF jointly campaigned on the information of Naxalite activities in the forests of village Gaurmund under police station Mainpur area. The team, led by Assistant Commandant Sudhir Kumar, recovered two 5 kg cookers bombs planted by Naxalites to target security forces during the search operation. With the help of bomb disposal squad (BDS), both IEDs were protectively destroyed on the spot.

According to officials, if these explosives were not caught on time, it could have caused heavy losses to nearby rural areas and cattle. During the search, the team has also recovered Naxalite material including solar plates, wire and utensils from the forest. This campaign of security forces is believed to be a befitting reply on the conspiracies of the Naxalites. Senior officials have appreciated the vigilance and quick action of the team.
