To take the ideals of Lord Shri Ram to the masses and to encourage the Ramayana troupes of the district, a district level Ramayana troupe competition was organized at the high school ground of Katghora. Sangam Manas Mandali Kutelamuda of development block Pali got the first position in the competition. The winning team was honored with a check of Rs 50,000, a memento and a citation. Earlier, Katghora MLA Mr. Purushottam Kanwar, District Panchayat President Mrs. Shivkala Kanwar, former Katghora MLA Mr. Bodhram Kanwar along with public representatives inaugurated the competition. After the competition, the winning troupe and the Ramayana troupes involved in the competition were felicitated. Selected participants from the Ramayana Mandali competition organized at the development block level participated in the district level competition. Apart from Pali, Sharda Manas Parivar Chuiya from development block Korba, Rajkumari Manas Mandali Kotmer from Kartala, Shri Ram Janaki Manas Mandali Kanhaiyabhata from Katghora and Adarsh Manas Mandali from development block Pondi Uproda participated in the district level Ramayana troupe competition. In the district level Ramayana Mandali competition, Ramayana troupes conveyed the ideal messages of Shri Ram to the masses by reciting various chapters compiled in Ramcharitmanas composed by the great poet Goswami Tulsidas. The winning team of Pali, which secured first position in the district level Ramayana troupe competition, will participate in the state level Ramayana troupe competition to be held at Rajim in Gariaband district. Katghora MLA Mr. Purushottam Kanwar, who participated as the chief guest in the district level Ramayana troupe competition, praised the competition organized by the government to encourage Ramayana troupes and to take the ideals of Lord Shri Ram to every village. He said that through the competition, the village level Ramayana troupes would get an opportunity to showcase their talent at the state level. During the program, the Ramayana troupes shed a stream of Ram Ras in the program by singing Manas. Devotional Ram Bhajan rendition by Ramayana troupes left the audience spellbound. The audience at Katghora’s High School ground enjoyed listening to the ideals of Shri Ram in the form of devotional songs and bhajans as mentioned in the epic Shri Ramcharitmanas with reverence and devotion.
