On the directions of the Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, the department is continuing the campaign for the prevention of forest crimes in the state. In this sequence, 195 pieces of teak etc. wooden chirans worth about Rs. 2 lakh were seized from the house of one of the accused after a guerrilla action in Sonbandha village of Takhatpur forest range under Bilaspur forest division last day. Under the guidance of Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi, the departmental team constituted under the direction of Forest Divisional Officer Shri Kumar Nishant with the help of police. The seized material includes 177 nos. of teak chiran and 18 nos. of other species of wood chiran.
