Efforts are being made to strengthen rural women financially in Chhattisgarh and new employment opportunities are being provided to them. A hallmark of this is seen in Korba, where women are weaving their life story anew with silk threads. Here, under the National Livelihood Mission Bihan, women of self-help groups are extracting threads from Kosa fruit and selling them in silk banks and earning more than 70 thousand rupees every month. It is worth mentioning that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the State Government is making many efforts to strengthen the rural economy. The state government is working keeping in view the development of Chhattisgarh with the development of villages. In this episode, emphasis is being laid on making women financially strong and self-reliant. As a result of these government efforts, women of Katghora block of Korba district, who were once facing financial crisis, have now been able to help the family financially. Here the women of Village Panchayat Salora (a) started working by forming self-help groups. These women of self-help groups were given training by the silk department on how to make silk thread from Kosa. Apart from this, Kosa threading machine was also given by the department to remove the thread. Smt. Santoshi Bai Tanwar associated with the Self-Help Group said that each member of the group takes out a thread worth Rs 200 to 250 a day. In this way, 10 women of the group are selling silk in the bank by extracting cocoon thread worth more than 70 thousand rupees in a month. With the help of departmental support, the work of removing the cocoon thread of women has also become easy. Kosa fruits are given to the women of the group by Resham Bank, Silk Department to remove the thread from the cocoon. The members of the group say that she has become self-sufficient due to the threading work and is leading a self-respecting life. All this is a result of the Bihaan scheme. Bihaan Yojana is bringing prosperity in the lives of rural women.
