In the last six days of paddy procurement for Kharif marketing year 2021-22 in the state from December 1, 06 lakh 48 thousand 764 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased at support price. Paddy is being procured from farmers through 2476 paddy procurement centers. In these six days, 2 lakh 115 farmers have sold their paddy at the support price in the procurement centers. So far, 866 crore 61 lakh rupees have been paid to these farmers under the bank linking system. Rajnandgaon district is leading in the state even on the sixth day of paddy procurement. In the last six days, 73,643.20 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in Rajnandgaon district. On the other hand, Bemetara district is at number two in the state in terms of paddy procurement. In Bemetara district 52,807 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured. Balodabazar district is third in the state for the sixth day in terms of paddy procurement, 52,435.24 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in Balodabazar district. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the farmers to sell paddy on support price. Farmers are reaching the procurement centers to sell paddy on token basis. According to the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, senior administrative officers are constantly visiting the centers to take stock of the convenience of the farmers and the arrangement of paddy procurement in the procurement centers. During this, discussions are also being held by the officials regarding the paddy procurement system with the farmers. The farmers described the paddy procurement system as satisfactory and expressed their gratitude towards the state government while expressing happiness over the rate of old gunny bags being raised to Rs 25. According to the information received from the Food Department, so far 46,951 metric tonnes in Mahasamund district, 5,305 metric tonnes in Bastar district, 842 metric tonnes in Bijapur district, 135 metric tonnes in Dantewada district, 17 thousand 430 metric tonnes in Kanker district so far in the current marketing year.
