Sowing of Rabi crops is going on in full swing in the state of Chhattisgarh. So far, sowing of rabi crops has been completed in 8 lakh 52 thousand 430 hectares, which is 46 percent of the target set for rabi sowing of 18 lakh 50 thousand hectares. Sowing of Tivda in pulse crops is almost over. Against the target of planting Tivda in 2 lakh 46 thousand hectares in the state this year, so far Tivda has been sown in 2 lakh 45 thousand 900 hectares, which is 100 percent of the target. Sowing of wheat has been completed in 18,830 hectares, maize in 18,830 hectares, barley-sorghum in 5130 hectares and coarse cereals in 89,360 hectares. Among pulses, gram has been sown in 2 lakh 11 thousand 890 hectares, peas in 28,230 hectares, lentils in 17,370 hectares, moong in 6,220 hectares, urad in 3920 hectares, kulthi in 20,480 and other pulses in 5,390 hectares. Under crops, linseed has been sown in 24,790 hectares, rye-mustard in 95,350 hectares, sesame, sunflower, safflower, groundnut and other oilseed crops in 5,410 hectares.
