Mountaineer Anganwadi worker Ms. Amita Shrivas has scaled the 6,70-metre snowy UT Kangri Peak of the Ladakh range of the ancient Himalayas after conquering Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak on the continent of Africa. After completing a difficult climb full of adventure and risk in minus 31 degree temperature, Chhattisgarh’s daughter dreams of conquering Everest. This was Ms. Amita’s fourth major ascent to the top of the mountain. After taking training in rock climbing from Vivekananda Mountaineering Institute Mount Abu in the year 2018, he first conquered the big peaks of North Sikkim and West Sikkim in 2019. After this, on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2021 last year, she took the mission of women’s empowerment and made a record by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of the continent of Africa. After reaching the 5895 meter high peak of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, he also gave the message of ‘Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh’. Ms. Amita explained that the success at UT Kangri is a step in the initial preparation for her Everest mission.
