A three-day state level sports, intellectual and cultural competition of Eklavya Model Residential Schools run by Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department is being organized from December 27 to December 29. Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam will inaugurate the competition at Swami Vivekananda Stadium Kota Raipur at 10 am. Parliamentary Secretary Shri Dwarkadhish Yadav will preside over the inauguration ceremony, Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vikas Upadhyay as special guest, Mayor Shri Ejaz Dhebar will be the Chief Guest. This competition will be organized in Raipur’s Vivekananda Kota Stadium, Department of Physical Education, Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Outdoor Stadium, Budhatalab Raipur, Directorate of Sports Complex Raipur, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium Science College Ground. Under the sports competition, both boys and girls will be organized for the age group of 14 years and 19 years. Athletics for both boys and girls in the state sports competition of Eklavya Model Residential School – 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 m and 4×100, 4x400m, high jump, long jump, ball throw, tawa throw, Three kilometer walk for girls, five kilometer walk for boys, Badminton, Football, Handball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Archery, Basketball, Boxing, Swimming 50 meters and 100 meters Freestyle, Wrestling , Table Tennis, Karate will be organized for 14 years age group and 19 years age group. Similarly, intellectual and cultural competition among Eklavya schools will be organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium Science College ground. Immediate speech competition, essay competition, debate, question forum, poster and painting competition will be organized under intellectual competition. Under the cultural competition, classical music, folk singing, instrumental, classical dance, folk dance will be organized for the age group of 14 years and 19 years. It is noteworthy that the division level competition of Eklavya Adarsh Residential Schools was organized on 23 and 24 December. Selected from the divisional level, more than 1300 students will participate in the state level competition. In order to make the event successful, the commissioner of Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department, Mrs. Shammi Abidi, coordinating with various departments, has been entrusted with the responsibility of the work.
