For the protection of Kharif crops, this year also a state-wide campaign of Roka-Chheka is being started from July 10. During this, to save the crop from grazing, the animals will be brought to Gauthan regularly under the Roka-Chheka campaign. Veterinary camps will be organized in Gauthans to check the health of animals, castration, artificial insemination and vaccination will be done for the improvement of animal breed. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has said that Roka-Chheka is our old tradition. This campaign was launched in the state in the last years also, the result of which has been very encouraging. Keeping this in mind, this campaign is being run again from July 10 to July 20 during the current Kharif season in the state. He has appealed for the cooperation of all the farmers and livestock owners for its success. Sowing of Kharif crops has started at a brisk pace in the state. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that we all know that after sowing the crops, the biggest concern of the farmers is the care and protection of the crops. The campaign of Roka-Chheka is proving to be important for the protection of crops, due to this both our crops and livestock will be safe. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that Roka-Chheka is our old tradition. Through this, we take a pledge not to leave our animals for grazing in the open, so that our crops are not harmed. Animals are kept in their homes, sheds and cowsheds and arrangements have to be made for their fodder and water. The work of roka cheka of animals has now become easier with the establishment of Gauthans in the village. Now you don’t even have to worry about taking care of animals and managing their fodder and water in Gauthans. Gauthan committees are engaged in this work. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that Gauthans are being made in the village for the purpose of better care of livestock in the state. So far, we have given approval for the construction of 10,624 Gauthans, out of which 8408 Gauthans have been completed. In order to provide dry fodder as well as green fodder to the cattle coming to the bunds, development of pasture is being done at a rapid pace in all the bunds. Green fodder is also being produced for cattle in more than 1200 Gauthans of the state. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that the disease of galghotu and ektangia occurs in cattle only during rainy days. To save the animals from both these diseases, their care is more important in this season. Roka-Chheka campaign will also help in this. Animals are being vaccinated by the Department of Livestock Development to prevent Galghotu and Ektangia disease. Livestock is our asset. Take care of it, don’t leave it to graze in the open, this will keep both our crops and livestock safe.
