Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, a meeting of the Steering Committee on the state’s action plan on climate change was held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here today. In the meeting, a new 10-year action plan for climate change of Chhattisgarh was approved. This action plan will be sent to the Government of India for approval. Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subrata Sahu was also present in the meeting. Once the state climate change action plan is approved by the central government, an action plan will be prepared to get financial assistance from national and international institutions for climate change and work will be done on the effects of climate change in the state. IISc joined through video conferencing Bangalore Prof. Dr. Awte of Rabindra Nath, CEE Ahmedabad also gave detailed information about various facts of climate change.
