The commissioner of the Tribal Department, Mrs. Shammi Abidi, conducted surprise inspections of departmental institutions in Durg and Rajnandgaon districts. He first inspected the building of the newly constructed Prayas Residential School in Durg district. It may be mentioned that this new building has been inaugurated by the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel on 22nd April last month. 300 boys and 200 girls are admitted in this 500 seater newly built Prayas residential school. This building is almost complete now. Classes are to be conducted here from this academic session. To see all these arrangements, a surprise inspection was done by Mrs. Shammi Abidi here. During the inspection, the construction work and other infrastructure facilities like class room, library, computer room, practical room, toilet, dining room, mess, cleanliness in the premises etc. were mainly focused by Mrs. Abidi and present. Necessary directions were given to the officials in this regard. Along with this, along with guiding the children preparing for JEE and NEET, they also encouraged them to get success in the examination. It is worth mentioning that in Prayas residential schools, in class 9th, the selection is done through the state level entrance examination. It has a system of excellent education from class 9th to 12th. Its objective is to enable the students to enter the national level educational institutions of excellence. So far 97 students from these schools, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), 261 students from National Institute of Technology and 44 students have achieved special achievement by getting admission in MBBS course in medical colleges of the state. Apart from this, CA, CS, CMA. 29 students have been successful in getting admission in CLAT and 03 in CLAT. So far 833 students have been successful in getting admission in various engineering colleges of the state. At present, a total of 9 Prayas residential schools are being operated in this manner in 02 in Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Ambikapur, Korba, Jashpur, Kanker and Jagdalpur.
