Congratulating and best wishes to the people of Chhattisgarh on the occasion of Chhattisgarh Pride Day, the Chief Minister said that the state government is working to promote Chhattisgarhi culture along with education, health and employment. Our food providers are happy. There is a glow of confidence on the faces of women who are becoming self-reliant. This is our biggest achievement. The Chief Minister said that after taking oath as Chief Minister, he went directly to Mantralaya and decided to waive loans of about Rs 11,000 crore to 19 lakh farmers and buy paddy for Rs 2,500. The Chief Minister said that the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi had dreamed of self-supporting villages, following his vision, Suraji Gaon Yojana was started. There was a beginning to make villages the center of production and cities the center of commerce and trade. He said that thousands of women in more than 9000 Gauthans of the state are involved in many livelihood related activities including buying cow dung, preparing vermicompost. Due to this their income has increased and they have become self-reliant. About 20 lakh quintals of vermi compost prepared in Gothans reached the fields. On the call of the state government, thousands of farmers donated their cattle. Chhattisgarh has a small contribution in reducing global warming and reducing carbon emissions through Gothans. More than four thousand of our gothans have become self-supporting. An amount of Rs 15 to 16 lakh is deposited with the Gauthan committees. With this amount, these Gauthans are buying cow dung and working for the development of the villages. This is a huge positive change. Generally, the development works of villages have been done with the amount received from the state or central government.
