Surguja. An undertrial female prisoner escaped from Ambikapur district hospital late on Monday night by dodging the police. The name of the female prisoner is Pooja Gupta, who is a resident of Ramanujganj in Balrampur district. The police had arrested her in an NDPS case. On August 22, the police had admitted her to the district hospital for delivery, after her delivery last night, she saw an opportunity and fled with her newborn child.
Let us tell you that after the news of the female prisoner escaping, there was a stir in the hospital. It is being told that the female prisoner was in the gynecology ward of the hospital till about 1 o’clock in the night. After which she escaped from the hospital with her newborn child. The police searched the CCTV footage of the hospital in which the female prisoner was captured leaving the hospital.
In the case, Additional Superintendent of Police, Sarguja, Amolak Singh Dhillon said that the woman is being searched on the basis of CCTV footage, and she will be arrested soon.
