A meeting of Raipur District Electricity Committee was held under the chairmanship of MP Sunil Soni in the Red Cross meeting hall located here today. The meeting discussed about providing 24×7 power to the consumers, bringing T&D and LT&C in the 12 to 15% level, financial stability in the distribution sector and power supply to the consumers through an operationally efficient distribution sector. Various topics were discussed including increasing the quality, reliability and efficiency of the ACR and reducing the ACR-APR gap to zero by the year 2024 -25. MP Sunil Soni said that on the orders of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, a district level committee has been constituted to monitor electricity related schemes. He said that the approved proposed scheme of Revised Distribution Area Scheme (RDSS), whose funding would be 60 percent by the Central Government, 10 percent by the State Government and 30 percent by the Power Distribution Company. The main works to be undertaken under the scheme include smart metering, various works for line loss reduction and modernization of infrastructure. Member of Parliament Shri Soni has proposed to add to the proposal regarding the electricity infrastructure of 45 villages to be attached in Raipur city and to meet the upcoming electricity demand and to provide information about the payment and SIM recharge through smart metering SIM to the electricity consumers. emphasized the need. He asked for quality completion of the work sanctioned under the Revised Distribution Area Scheme (RDSS). Senior MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma said that 24×7 supply would be possible only if there is sufficient production of electricity for 24×7 power supply. He thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for giving approval to the 2×660 MW power generation company in Korba.
