The present system regarding the preparation and distribution system of ready-to-eat nutritional food in Chhattisgarh will be applicable till March 2022. The implementation of the new policy issued by the state government in this regard was to be done from February 1, 2022, it has now been extended till April 1, 2022. Orders have been issued by the state government on January 18, 2022 regarding the implementation of this new system from April 2022. Ready to eat is being distributed through Anganwadi centers of Chhattisgarh to remove malnutrition among women and children. To further improve the quality of nutritional food, it has been decided by the State Government to adopt a centralized system. In this system ready to eat nutritional food will be produced through automatic machines. Under this arrangement, currently contracted women self-help groups will be supported in ready-to-eat transportation and distribution work, so that there will be continuity in their source of income. Under the new policy, ready-to-eat food will be manufactured through units set up by Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Agriculture Development Corporation under the Department of Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare and Biotechnology. Ready to eat will be supplied by Raigarh Plant, a joint venture of Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Agriculture Development Corporation. Along with this, the Supreme Court has also said that the energy, micronutrients (calories, protein, folic acid, riboflavin, niacin, calcium, thiamine, iron, vitamin) prescribed in the ready to eat are being distributed under the supplementary nutrition diet program being given to the beneficiaries.
